Today's Affirmation: BEST I can.

Today's Affirmation: I do not need to be perfect. I can trust that I am doing the best I can. You are not alone. We all have a strong tendency to be hard on ourselves, to judge and criticize, to feel guilty and ashamed. But it doesn't have to be that way. We can learn how to stop being so critical of ourselves, and instead start treating ourselves with the same compassion and care we would show to a close friend. Today, take some time to think about your inner critic, and how it affects your daily life. What kinds of things does it say? How does it make you feel? How does it influence what you do? Now imagine that this inner critic is an actual person, sitting across from you in a chair. Would you talk to this person in the same way that you talk about yourself? Of course not! Now, listen carefully for these criticisms as they come up throughout the day. Rather than engaging with them, treating them like facts or truth, see if you can simply notice them as thoughts or feelings, without getting caught up in them or believing them. If possible, respond by counteracting those criticisms with a few kind words towards yourself: "I'm doing the best I can."
