Last week, I discussed 7 Daily Affirmations to Help You Create Your Vision for 2023.
This week, I want to talk about 3 Meditation Techniques for Creating a Vision for 2023.
If you don't have a vision yet, or if you're not sure what your vision is, then it's time to start meditating on your vision.
Meditation is one of the most powerful tools at our disposal when it comes to creating our own reality. It's also one of the most underutilized tools in our arsenal!
Meditation can help us tap into our subconscious mind and allow us to access information that we may not be aware of consciously—information that will help us create a new reality for ourselves.
But before we get started with these 3 meditation techniques, let's take a moment to talk about what meditation is and isn't.
What Meditation Isn't:
Meditation is not about trying to control your thoughts or make them go away. It's not about forcing yourself to stop thinking, or trying so hard that you're exhausted by the end of it. Meditation is not about sitting still and doing nothing. It's not about sitting still and doing nothing. Meditation is not a way to escape from your life or from problems that you're facing. It's not a quick fix for stress or anxiety, although it can help with both of those things.
What Meditation Is:
Meditation is a mental exercise that can calm the mind and give us perspective. It involves focusing your attention on something internal rather than external, much like other kinds of concentration—except this time we're not trying to keep our eyes from wandering or memorizing facts. When we meditate, however—especially when we do it for long periods of time and with great intention—we are able to access information from beyond our usual awareness.
Now that we know what meditation is and isn't, here are 3 meditation techniques for Creating a Vision for 2023:
1. Focus Meditation:
Sit in a comfortable position with your back straight and your eyes closed. Focus on your breathing for about five minutes, until you feel relaxed and calm. When you are ready, think about what you want to achieve in 2023. What is the vision for your life? Try not to get caught up in all of the details or reasons why it won't work out—just focus on the end result.
2. Zen Meditation:
The goal of Zen meditation is to let words, ideas, and images pass us by without getting involved in them. In Zen practice, we learn how to become aware of the sensations, thoughts, and emotions that arise in our bodies—without judgment or criticism—and just let them go.
Try this: Sit comfortably with your eyes closed for about five minutes. When you are ready, think about what you want to achieve in 2023. What is the vision for your life? Try not to get caught up in all of the details or reasons why it won't work out—just focus on the end result.
3. Guided Meditation:
Guided meditation is a great way to relax, let go of stress, and tune into your body. It can also be helpful in deepening your connection with yourself or others.
Try this: Try searching Youtube, Spotify, and or an app like Headspace that has a wide range of guided meditations. You can also search for “guided meditation” on Google and find some good options.
Hopefully, the above techniques will put you on the right path to creating your vision for 2023. But again, the best advice I can give is to give it a shot and see what happens. There's no one right way to go about it; there are many techniques available to help guide you in your journey.
