#MindrightMondaze: Why You Should Start A Meditation Journal

Writer: Crystal GlassCrystal Glass

Are you new to meditation? Do you want to start a meditation journal but aren't sure what to do? We can help.

We're going to walk through the basics of starting a meditation journal, including some tips on how to make it work for your life and practice.

Why You Should Start A Meditation Journal

There are so many reasons why people start a meditation journal, but here are just a few of the top ones:

1) It helps you keep track of your progress. If you've been meditating for a while, it's easy to lose track of how much time you've spent in silence or how many times you've sat down each day. You might not even realize that some days were better than others until much later—when it's too late! Keeping a record will help you get back on track if things get off course or if life gets in the way (which is bound to happen).

2) It helps with accountability. When we're accountable for something (like keeping up with our meditation practice), we feel more motivated and more likely to follow through on our goals. That's why having someone else check up on us every once in a while helps!

3) It helps you identify obstacles. You may find that some days are harder than others to sit still or concentrate. Maybe it's because you're too tired, hungry, or busy and don't have time for meditation right now. Or maybe there's something else going on—like a difficult situation at work or home that needs your attention first. If you keep a record, then when things start getting tough, all you'll need is a quick glance at your log to see what's going on.

4) It helps you build good habits. Think of a log as an investment in your future self. If you keep it up, then someday when you look back at all those days that were hard but worth it, you'll feel proud.

Happy Meditation Monday!
